The order states:  THESE INTERNET SITES IN GENERAL ARE A PROVEN HAVEN FOR MALICIOUS ACTORS AND CONTENT AND ARE PARTICULARLY HIGH RISK DUE TO INFORMATION EXPOSURE, USER GENERATED CONTENT AND TARGETING BY ADVERSARIES…INFORMATION LEAKAGE THAT PUTS OPSEC, COMSEC, PERSONNEL AND THE MCEN AT AN ELEVATED RISK OF COMPROMISE.

The Department of Defense plans to launch a new site next month that integrates social media technology.

The Marine Corp Facebook page has more than 75,000 fans.

The business of funny went cyber as soon as users were able to upload content onto websites, and with the advancements of social networking software connecting millions, the market has become an open forum for advertisers.

According to Mashable.com, Huh and team initially planned to keep the site under the radar until they had received more crazy emails submissions. But a request for content on their hit property, FAIL Blog, pretty much determined that Emails From Crazy People would be an instant meme, and they’re now doing everything in their power to handle the crazy influx of traffic already coming their way.

EmailsFromCrazyPeople.com has already seen more than one million hits.  Traffic is expected to increase.

I’ve just about had it with these social network sites.  The wonderful irony is that governments, big businesses, and complete strangers have access to view the information on social network sites and use it to their advantage while keeping the users convinced what they throw up on their page is private.  I wonder if people will wise up (especially people who think the government takes away their right to privacy ie. homeland security)  because they’re displaying all sorts of wonderful information about their lives willingly for others to use as leads or some other advantage.  I’m glad I don’t use these networking sites.  I’m happy with my normal, private, lifestyle.  Thanks.  - Ben

This significant growth ratio, considering Facebook’s bread-and-butter 18 to 24 year old demographic is now the third largest, will refine Facebook’s priorities as it is no longer a young site.

With thousands of unsigned bands using Myspace to share (and hopefully sell) their music, there is a good chance Myspace will find one song worthy of mass exploitation without regard to the artist’s financial situation.
